Double award win for Merseyrail
Last night at the VIB Awards, our customers Merseryrail won 2 awards, Best Reward Communications and Reward Champion of the Year which was awarded to Andy Parry, Head of Engagement and Reward.
We went down to show our support and we also hosted our very on ‘Hapi Bar’ to make sure the nominees were refreshed throughout the evening!
Each year, the Very Important Benefits Awards looks to celebrate employees and providers that go above and beyond. It might be those who develop fantastic health and wellbeing strategies, or come up with benefits that are useful for the whole family. Either way, these people are doing things a bit differently and were rewarded for doing so.
Merseyrail has been an advocate for Personal Group for years and are always keen to look at new ways to reward staff for living their values: Genuine, Professional, Proactive and Inclusive.
Back in 2014, Merseryrail took the decision to make their benefit offerings even better. They introduced a Home Computing scheme to all employees and worked with Let’s Connect to make this happen. As part of Personal Group, Let’s Connect delivers Salary Sacrifice Home Technology programmes to clients throughout the UK.
Not only did they deliver this programme to help upskill staff, but it was the way they communicated the benefit that won them the Best Reward Communications Award.
Andy championed a significant internal marketing and advisory programme to make sure every member of staff knew what was available. Workshops, articles, guides you name it, Andy sorted it. Merseryrail have a diverse set of roles in the business so a one size fits all approach wouldn’t have worked. Roadshows were also coordinated between Personal Group and Merseyrail had the chance to meet with someone face to face to learn what was on offer. By bringing in our own Personal Group and Let’s Connect staff we were able to share knowledge on the best ways to get the message across.
As a result, the response has been pretty phenomenal. Not only was there a 27% response rate in the first two weeks of the roll out, since then there has been a fantastic take up of the scheme which has also helped the business identify IT solutions that will aid the business moving forward.
It was for these reasons the VIB’s awarded Merseryrail and Andy Parry and it is also the reason why we love working with them. Enthusiastic clients who are driven to make ‘Work Happy’ for their staff, just how we like it!

How Can a Multigenerational Workforce Support Younger Employees’ Mental Health?
