Posted on: Thursday March 23, 2023

Having a package of employee benefits is a good start, but what next? You’ve sent the invites, put up the posters, people have activated their accounts – now what?
We work with almost 4,000 small and medium sized enterprise businesses – just like yours. So, we are going to share their hints and tips to help make your Sage Employee Benefits truly great, and help you become an employer of choice.
#1 Keep telling them! It may sound obvious, but the magic number appears to be seven – yes SEVEN – times! There is lots of research out there that shows you need to keep reminding people what they have. Emails, posters, events, and regular reminders. Focus on national celebration days for example: Mental Health Awareness Day – remind your staff they have a 24/7 helpline. Cost-of-living in the headlines – remind them of the hundreds of discounts they have at their fingertips and so on.
#2 Consider adding the benefits to your policies. Some of our clients have made the OnDemand GP part of their sickness reporting policy. This means when an employee rings in sick, they can get the help they need fast. See this great case study from NRG Riverside.
#3 Lead by example. Get your Senior Team using the benefits. Sending a simple recognition card for example will really boost motivation and encourage your team to do the same.
#4 Consider adding some funds. Using the recognition tool to reward your staff is a great booster. This great case study from Clinisupplies showed how using recognition really drove their platform
